Yelp 365 Challenge #102/365 (Pearl City Location) Office Christmas party with a $10 minimum on a gift? Look no further... No longer will you have to scrounge up and down the aisles at Longs or other stores such as Price Busters out of sheer desperation because you are trying to figure out what to buy that it is $10 or less. This also goes for offices that are expecting $20 minimum for gifts that you'll be exchanging. Before I go further, stop thinking about the person who will spend $20 on something that is totally unuseful or ridiculous, which you know for some odd reason or premonition that you will be the one taking it home and fuming about it on the car home that you spent it on something worthy that they are happy about while you are stuck with something...stupid. So....*trumpets blare* enters this location because it was so convenient for me to jump off the freeway to head into Pearl City because if I stop at this location. I can just drive on down the road to jump back on the freeway to drive to my office. Not only is this location perfect, it is surrounded by other eats and stores such as Daiichi Ramen and Curry (YUM), Walmart, Longs, Sam's Club Gas Pumps. Ambiance Small and quaint but not too cramped. There are few tables outside, which I wouldn't recommend to any study teams or groups that are planning on studying (too close to the main road like the Starbucks by Pearlridge / Bed Bath and Beyond). In addition, I've always loved the music selection in Starbucks. It just sets you in a groovy, relaxed mood where you just won't be bothered about anything while you are there. Service Very friendly and not pushy. Usually (in other locations or coffee places), you'll have the big, cheesy grins from the Baristas but I'm thinking this Starbucks location is striving to maintain the vision of Howard Schultz that he shared in his book, "Onward". Prices As you know, you'll pay for what you request and it's not cheap coffee, lattes, fraps, ice teas, or baked goods. The Overall Outcome I have nothing to complain about. They were quick and friendly. I got my gift card and the office person was very happy with their gift card. For me on the other hand? I received a mug... duplicate to the big mug that I NORMALLY use when I am in the mood for coffee (hmmph). From my Yelp page to your Yelp page...Merry Christmas and a Happy New Yelping :)

laid back café and nice, friendly staff :) always come here cause it's close to home and a quick stop after Walmart and other stores and food joints.

The staff here is amazing, hands down best Starbucks on the island. I go every day to Starbucks and have found a big difference in the stores. While this store is not always perfect, they are much better than kapolei, kunia, pearl city.

Best Starbucks that I've been to....service is great....they usually get my order fulfilled by the time I scan my phone in at the register.....great service.

Great Customer service, better than any other Starbucks places.

Linear layout; smaller location in comparison to other Starbucks. Depending on the time of day parking is limited. The workers are always super peppy and friendly here.

I went to another Starbucks on my way to work. The Oprah Chai Tea in ice with Soy...tasted funny. I realized it was the milk they put in tasted spoiled. So I went to my usual location in Pearl City. Kamana'o greeted me and I told her my situation. She didn't even hesitate and just made me another one. Thank you having such friendly staff!

My absolute favorite Starbucks hands down! The staff here is so awesome and my drinks always come out perfect! I miss working near them because my coffee is never as good, but I always make sure to stop by when I can to get my fix :)

The baristas actually try to make an effort to get to know you and their super patient with getting your order right!

This is the closest Starbucks from where I live, but I don't come here as often as Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf due to the location. It would be great if it was in Pearl City shopping center but unfortunately that won't happen. The baristas serve you quickly. Just used a Starbucks card that my mom got from a friend. Since we don't visit this Starbucks that often, why not use it. Location wise: it's near Walmart, Panda express, L & L drive in, daiichi ramen, Wendy's. Longs, Tj maxx, petco, david bridal, ramen ya, cherry on top, babies r us, and several other businesses are right across in the Pearl City Gateway. Hate to say it, there are not enough chairs and tables at this location. Luckily they have a restroom you can use.

Not too many places to sit and study and can get kind of busy. Baristas are super nice and friendly. -outlets -AC -bathroom

To be honest, this has to be one of best Starbucks in the area. Even through the craziness during finals, this location is always clean, fast, and efficient. Their staff is really friendly and they remember your name, which is really nice especially during those early mornings where you need a caffeine fix. Their lines go fast as well! I'm just so happy how they seem to ALWAYS have their cold brew and food on stock. Especially their spinach feta wrap!

Love the baristas here. So friendly, especially regulars. Always clean and great service. Wish there was more seating inside. Gets very busy!!

Every Monday recently has been awesome between 2 and 5 pm. Why? Because of the weekly specials that have been happening during this time! Last Monday, I stopped by and got a Venti Caramel Frappucino at half off. The week before I got a tall black iced tea and a free pastry. Finally, the week before that there was a buy one, get one tea deal! All you need is the Starbucks app with money on it. Starbucks, you sure know how to get me through your doors! Keep it up and you will see me every Monday. I love a good deal! Service has been real good and parking has been easy with a parking stall open close by every time that I have stopped by. I have never had to wait too long even during the times when things are cheap.

Searching for a Starbucks? Look no further. . this is the BEST Starbucks on the island! They always make my "Cobey Special", a raspberry black ice tea with extra Thai walls, perfect each time I come. I use to drink a cinnamon dolce frappuccino and that too was always made perfectly to my taste. Love the staff there, they are friendly and greets you with a smile.

What's not to like about Starbucks? Seriously! It is a great place right next to a few other restaurants and best of all Walmart. So before or after you shop you can treat yourself with this deliciousness. My boyfriend and I go there a good bit because we also live close by and he always surprises me with a different name on my cup. They make yummy drinks and my boyfriend is very particular about his no coffee drinks and they always do an awesome job! Friendly and kind staff, delicious drinks? Win win.

This is my go to store on the Weekend.. It is a bit busy on the weekends but the lines seem to move along quickly.. I have had a missed drink a few time but it was when they were very busy and they corrected it, right away. It's in a convenient location but the parking lot gets very crowded. The staff is always friends to me and of course the drinks are delicious.

I love coming to this location! My niece and nephew were visiting from California and I raved about my favorite Starbucks ever.... Unfortunately, one bad seed had to ruin it... She's the ONLY one that doesn't SMILE and she seems to be a grouch every single time. So sad because the ones she acknowledges by name she would give them a smile...or a smirk kinda smile... slol... she's the older looking one. Dark complexion.. I think she's filipino. . She's been there forevers and she still has the same attitude each time.. oh well, I hope she doesn't catch me with that attitude on a bad day, because then I would have to put her place.. lol.. omg.. go drink coffee pls!!!

Located by pearl highlands shopping center by Wal-Mart, next to Kit-n-kitchen. This store isn't that big like the other stores I've been to but comfy and roomy enough. They have an outside seating area which is always nice. Girl that took my order didn't greet me or anything. When she took customers orders before me, she didn't acknowledge me and kept talking to staff. I stood there patiently until she looked at me without a peep. It was though I bothered her or something. I told her my drink and went to the side. My orange Valencia was made fast which I like because always rushing due to traffic. Girl that gave me my drink was more pleasant than the first girl. Besides the cold greeting I got, place is average, main thing is my drink is good.

  • Asia B.

This is my favorite Starbucks. The workers try their best to remember you (and your order). I've studied here on and off since high school, and it's so nice that the baristas ask you how your day is going, what you're working on, etc. because they really don't have to do that. Sometimes their drinks can be inconsistent, but that might be because there have been new hires lately. I'm sure they'll all be up to par soon! All in all, this is a great neighborhood spot.

  • Marko C.

What a FUN place to get some coffee. My friend needed to get some coffee for our morning meeting, and she suggested this Starbucks. We walked in and three baristas behind the counter flashed huge smiles and welcomed us. I was in the mood for a caramel machhiato, but I saw that egg nog is back in season! I told the nice lady behind the counter that I kinda wanted both. She suggested that I order an Egg Nog Machhiato! WHAT?!!! HANA PA'A!!! Was ONO!!! This place is clean, has friendly staff, and oozes with aloha! Maika'i!

Most of the time, a Starbucks is just a Starbucks. Well, this time . . . nothing changes. This is your average, run of the mill Starbucks. As much as I love my bold coffees and frappuccinos, it takes something special to make a shop stand out in the crowd. This shop, however, is shooting par for the course right now. The staff are friendly and very helpful - as they are at most other locations. The sandwiches and other offerings mimic every other Starbucks - so nothing different there either. They honor your gift cards and gold reward cards via your smart phone - this is cool and convenient but you can do this at most other locations too. One negative is that parking is a challenge during peak hours since the lot is quite small and the stalls are barely large enough to accommodate our American sized SUV. I'm sure I'll see the inside of this shop again and when I do I'll order a venti bold with a little ice (to keep me from getting a tongue blister) and that's what I'll get - nothing more, nothing less.

I like this place because of the convenience, I mean Its location in a pretty good spot. Also its not as crowed as waikele or waimalu starbucks. Kind of small but has a lot of outlets. Sounds like a dream come true right? ha. I wish I wish I could rate this place higher(really do), but the only thing that sucks about this starbucks is there crew, more specifically, the morning crew. It seems like all of the workers just give you bitch face and make you feel uncomfortable. They all give off an unwelcoming vibe, they might as well have "FUCK OFF" tattooed on their faces. Then when you order you get some snobby attitude. Like girl. Its not my fault you're working early, I just want a coffee and you're making me feel guilty as shit. There are PLENTY of other jobs out there if you dont like this one. I mean, I'm a nice customer. I'm treating you with respect, I only ask for you to return the favor. That being said, come here after say 3ish on any given day, the bitchy crew is usually done by then, and honestly, they're the only reason this place is getting more than 1 star.

Still one of the best Starbucks in Hawaii!!! The consistently great tasting iced coffee keeps me coming back!! The baristas here are very personable! Kerri, Stacie, and Jasmine are great! Definitely recommend this location!!!

    (5)
  • MJ S.

The drinks are consistent but the staff inconsistent. Some of the workers are friendly while others act like they are mute. The lines can be slow, but then again I frequent the Starbucks on Merchant St. which gets 5 stars for efficiency. Oh and I'll mention it since no one else did, there are a couple of creepy guys that set up their laptops and stay a really long time. I've come in the morning they're there, I go late at night, they're there. Basically it's hard to get a seat, unless you sit outside with the people who take turns trying to blow bigger clouds from their e-cigs. I really shouldn't knock the establishment for their patrons, but ambience counts too right?

I love this starbucks! When we put gas at Sams my husband drops me off and after getting our drinks I will walk right over to him at the pump. The baristas are always friendly and patient when I'm customizing my drinks. Today I got my cold buster tea. Its a Venti cup with 1 bag refresh, 1 bag calm, half hot water, half steamed lemonade and 1 pump peppermint. The barista wrote it out and double checked the order with me. Love it!

I came here to this location recently for the first time. I always pass by here all of the time whenever I go to Walmart and 24 Hour Fitness and always mean to come in and get Starbucks over here. However, I end up going to Waimalu or the one by Pearlridge most of the time instead. Anyways, this is a very chillax Starbucks to go to. It's not that big of anything but I do like the set up. They have both indoor and outdoor table and seating areas. The staff and customer service is good. The mornings do tend to get busy but the Baristas are on point with everything. This makes for a great place to study and have meetings with clients and stuff. Too bad they are not a Starbucks that closes late because I think a lot of people would come here and stay here for a while to do whatever business that they have to do. This is a convenient location right across of Walmart and directly nearby other shops and restaurants in front of the Sam's Club gas station.

  • Brittany T.

It is nice to go somewhere where people remember your name and your order. The entire staff is friendly but April and Stacie are the best and I hope you enjoy.

Just noticed that this Starbucks did not raise their prices. Wow! That's great, Ewa & Kapolei prices went up by almost 50 cents.

The Starbucks closets to my mom's house. I swear it's a smaller selection of foods, the drinks are all available, as with all Starbucks. This location has friendly workers, but then again, Starbucks only hires the best. Think about it, would you like to work serving people who are in need of caffeine? I'm a witch before I get my morning, afternoon, or evening brew. I'd hate to serve me, on no caffeine! Quaint outdoor seating, small, cramp, parking lot. My favorites: passionfruit iced tea with Thai walls, caramel ribbon frapp, white mocha frapp and chocolate cinnamon bread. I wish they could reconfigure this location and add a drive thru, but hey, I'm just glad there's a location close to my mom's place in Pearl City!!!

The best Starbucks experience I will ever have is because of this particular location. The workers are ubberly friendly, they remember if yous a regular, and the drinks are always spot on. Everything is just so right there if you ever need some coffee. I always go towards the night time only on weekdays so I can catch the same workers in making my drink and they never let me down. EVER.

If this were by the beach it would be perfect. Ample indoor and outdoor patio seating, near movies, gym (my life now) and other shopping. Service is pretty fast here so I never have to wait long and there's a restroom if you've got a long drive and this is 1/2 way from downtown to Ewa or North Shore.

  • Kory M.

I'm a newbie for Starbucks but this use to be my spot to study since it was out of the house and nearby where I live. Now I'm a Starbucks addict! My course is over but looking to start up again so I can be a regular again. They make the Green Tea Frapp with WC blended in, none on top - the best! I tried other Starbucks and it just doesn't taste right? Workers and regulars there are all pretty cool too.

This is my favorite Starbucks, in Oahu. I won't go anywhere else, unless I need to. Its close to home, I get treated like royalty, and the service is GREAT! I feel really appreciated every time I stop by. And, I stop by everyday because everybody is awesome. As a matter of fact, I'm here now...LOL Erwin

The employees are too busy talking story to each other to greet or help the customers. Think I will stick with the Waimalu location.

  • Jocelyn M.

This is one of my favorite Starbucks!! The baristas are very friendly and always my drink the way I ordered it! They always have a big smile on their faces and they seem to all get along! Another plus is that it's super close to my workplace! This place is usually not that crowded so I am almost always able to find a seat! Perfect place to be if you have a meeting, homework or want to do your daily devotions! I definitely will be back! :)

    (5)
  • Ashly M.

Always has food stocked! They are very quick at getting your order out! I'm usually in and out faster than I get through some starbucks drive thrus. Customer service is excellent. Its clean and they have 15/20 min parking out front, pretty much used for Starbucks goers.

    (5)
  • Maricel C.

This Starbucks is great so far. The workers are always friendly, never once did I felt a sense of bad customer service. Most of the time it's never crowded, but sometimes after school it can be.

  • Greg Y.

The oasis of all the Starbucks in the Pearl City and Aiea area! While this location does get crowded, by far, it doesn't get overwhelmed like other locations. The wait in line is short and pleasant with the professional and friendly staff greeting you. Parking is okay and if the closest lot is full (which it rarely is), the enormous Walmart lot is right there. For the most part, this location is clean and well kept. Rarely have I come across empty napkin dispensers or condiments like other Starbucks. While the Pick of the Day freebie songs and apps with iTunes is hit or miss in many Starbucks locations, I have noticed that this spot is up-to-date. I have noticed that more and more people are hanging out and monopolizing tables but not as bad as I've seen elsewhere. This could partly be due to the smaller size of this store. There's just not enough space for big study groups to grab 2-3 tables. Anyways, great store!

    (4)
  • Yvonne V.

Great place to go and grab your coffee fix. The employees are awesome and friendly. Also it's convenient because there are several other shopping places around and especially Walmart! I like their coffee, its served with a smile and makes me feel welcomed

By far my favorite Starbucks on the Island. They have very friendly staff, I know most do, but they are a step above in the mornings. I beleive this is what a Starbucks is supposed to be.

A little oases in the sea of madness! LOL. First time to this shopping complex, And this is a cute Starbucks, kinda small, not crowded at all. Over looking the sea of cars.

Good location while waiting for my wife. Nice people, same drinks as everywhere else that I noticed. I don't typically order food from Starbucks so don't know what it's like. Clean nice atmosphere, exactly what you'd expect from a Starbucks.

This was my first time to this Pearl City Starbucks, located right by Walmart, because I had just finished my Babies R' Us registry and needed to get some work done. Normally I do my best not to work on Sundays but what's a Mom with a baby in her tummy to do? I have 2 1/2 months to get all my "stuff" together so I can go on maternity leave. Ack! Well this Starbucks is the place to be in Pearl City on a Sunday afternoon because it was packed. Mostly with college students studying together and the odd hipster dude grabbing their frappucino. I got an iced coffee, a perfect oatmeal (because I was "attempting" to be a little healthier), and a seat by the window. It was the "handicapped" desk but I'm 7 months pregnant so that really should be considered the same thing at this point. I'm impaired, I'm not always coherent and I have trouble getting around physically. Handicapped right? I opened up my perfect oatmeal and all the packets of toppings (brown sugar, mixed nuts, dried fruit) and realized that with everything combined I would easily be consuming 400+ calories. Why the heck didn't I just eat a Big Mac at this point?! I may as well have grabbed one of those ridiculous blueberry muffins. As I pondered my food dilemma a man rolled in, and I mean rolled in, on a segway. He literally rolled into the Starbucks, went up to the counter and got his coffee, all the while never coming down from his segway. Don't get me wrong, I think segways are very cool but what's the proper etiquette when it comes to riding your segway into a public place? Shouldn't it be the equivalent of riding a horse? You certainly would not bring your horse into Starbucks. You'd leave it parked outside by the troft. After the man went outside and sat with a table of friends I was convinced that he was really just a dork and wanted to show off his segway to the young girls seated inside. La-la-la-la-la-lame!

Rating: 4/5 (There's always room for improvement) Date(s) visited: 2/16/2012, many times before. Emiko T. commented on 12/03/2010: yelp.com/us ... "Since Starbucks' are all the same (across the nation, around the globe) I suppose that, what makes one Starbucks superior to another comes down to ultimately the layout of the cafe. Do they have space? Lots of tables? Couches and outlets for all those who "study" at cafes?" ****************************** ****************************** **************** Drinks: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Parking: 2/5 This is much smaller Starbucks that I've been to in Hawaii. There is enough of chairs, couches and tables to do work there. But, get there early so you can take advantage of them Drinks: Always a pleasure having a cup of Starbucks coffee in my hands. Service: Depending on the time of day one would visit a Starbucks location, the delivery time from ordering to receiving your order, is either hit or miss. Atmosphere: Great location, minimal space. Price: Pricey, but worth it. If it was any cheaper, I think the service and atmosphere would definitely go down. Parking: Not much parking, but it's hit or miss during the time of the day you choose to get there.

Probably one of the best Starbucks locations around! The team here is great. They are friendly, cheerful, and always know which drink to suggest for my mood. Some employees could use more personality, but overall this location is one of the best I have dealt with on this island. Thank you!

#55/365 My second time coming to this starbucks but my first time actually sitting down to study and must I say that I like it :)! It wasnt FREEZING cold like ALL the other starbucks i've been too. It was a comfortable temperature, perfect for studying :), yeah the musics a tad bit loud but most starbuck's music is anyway. This starbucks is on the smaller side but i like that they have patio seating outside too. Overall id come here again

Peace. Love. & Starbucks. For always spelling my name correctly (McDonald's usually spells my name Raenae)... For Burger King-ing it up and letting you have coffee "however-you-want-it..." For being the most common place I run into old friends... For the daily burst of caffeine needed to get me through the days... For your skinny vanilla latte, skinny caramel macchiato, iced nonfat white mocha, passion iced tea w/apple juice, strawberry black iced tea, and sinful java chip frappuccinos... ...For all this and more, I thank you :) Your pastries may stink, and so do a lot of your customers...but whatever, you're still the love of my life.

Quad Venti, Non-Fat, No-Whip, One pump mocha.....to go please. That is my drink of choice and boy do I love Starbucks over roasted beans for this perfect drink. There isnt much you can say about Starbucks since its on every single corner and in every single town. Did you know Startbucks also owns Seattle's Best? In the hype and when Starbucks was at its peak, had billions to spar and did a take over of this coffee house.

I'm almost embarrassed to be a fan of starbucks. I always loved teasing my wife and some of my friends for their preppy ways and their common almost "clingon" like language. To my shame, I actually drove a little out of my way to go to this starbucks since the closer location messed up my order one too many times. I had to have my iced coffee with just the right mixture of milk and sweeter with no soy added by mistake. You know what... they delivered. So far, it has never been wrong here. Someday I may regain my simple man ways and go straight coffee from whatever gas station... but till then I will be stopping here.

  • Nicole K.

i wish there was more indoor seating. I think that's the only thing i don't like about this location. the outdoor seating is fine...except when it rains. the workers here are really fast. i got my chai latte in record time, and it was pretty busy. (they even spelled my name correctly on the cup). The location itself is really nice, as well. right next to walmart, good eating places, gas station.

Thank you for knowing how to make a Caramel Machiatto and your great service. The only reason you get 4 stars is because the manager lady huffs and puffs when I ask her to fill up my water cup, even though I just spent $10 bucks on coffee and a ham artisan sandwich.

  • Gloria S.

I like this Starbucks! It's next to Walmart and a bunch of restaurants (Wendy's, Just Tacos, Panda... To name a few!). Lots of parking, tables, power outlet and the nice thing about it is they are about 3 minutes away from the 24 Hour Fitness Supper Sport facility! Get your caffeine on then go work it out!

My favorite Starbucks location yet. Here are a few reasons why YOU should come here, too. 1. Excellent customer service-- the main reason why I give them FIVE stars. I love the whole friendly staff here, they're always consistent. They're always smiling and they brighten up my day. They also know how to handle rude customers "like a boss." Big props to you guys! ^___^b 2. Coffee. My favorite go-to place for iced espresso. That's how I usually judge how good a coffee shop is, too. Their mix drinks are too sweet for my taste, but I hear they're good. I've been coming to this place for a good year and I've only heard two complaints about how the barista didn't make the drink well. 3. Free WiFi and open until 10! Studying here is great because I get an extra hour of procrastination, and the music is never too loud. 4. The AC temperature is comfortable. I noticed that I freeze my ass off in the other locations. The temperature here is juuuust right. There are more reasons to love this place, but the list goes on and on. So check them out for yourself!

My absolute favorite Starbucks on the island! The staff is friendly, they know my order, and they always have a warm and welcoming greeting when I step to the counter. My coffee is always perfect no matter which barista is behind the wheel. Jasmine and her crew are excellent.... every single time! Thanks guys for always making my drive worthwhile!!

Win win.

My absolute favorite Starbucks hands down! The staff here is so awesome and my drinks always come out perfect! I miss working near them because my coffee is never as good, but I always make sure to stop by when I can to get my fix :)

Love it!

Maika'i!

  • Ashly M.

Always has food stocked! They are very quick at getting your order out! I'm usually in and out faster than I get through some starbucks drive thrus. Customer service is excellent. Its clean and they have 15/20 min parking out front, pretty much used for Starbucks goers.

Good location while waiting for my wife. Nice people, same drinks as everywhere else that I noticed. I don't typically order food from Starbucks so don't know what it's like. Clean nice atmosphere, exactly what you'd expect from a Starbucks.

Thank you!

Someday I may regain my simple man ways and go straight coffee from whatever gas station... but till then I will be stopping here.

i wish there was more indoor seating.

Friendly staff...regular ole starbucks. They all seem the same..jus how I like it with my grande cinnamon dolce frap no whip, with a bacon/gouda/egg breakfast sandwich...yummmmm!!

Still one of the best Starbucks in Hawaii!!! The consistently great tasting iced coffee keeps me coming back!! The baristas here are very personable! Kerri, Stacie, and Jasmine are great! Definitely recommend this location!!!

    (4)
  • Angelo A.

    (2)

Love it!

Maika'i!

EVER.

  • Angela K.

Always has food stocked! They are very quick at getting your order out! I'm usually in and out faster than I get through some starbucks drive thrus. Customer service is excellent. Its clean and they have 15/20 min parking out front, pretty much used for Starbucks goers.

Good location while waiting for my wife. Nice people, same drinks as everywhere else that I noticed. I don't typically order food from Starbucks so don't know what it's like. Clean nice atmosphere, exactly what you'd expect from a Starbucks.

Probably one of the best Starbucks locations around! The team here is great. They are friendly, cheerful, and always know which drink to suggest for my mood. Some employees could use more personality, but overall this location is one of the best I have dealt with on this island. Thank you!

Someday I may regain my simple man ways and go straight coffee from whatever gas station... but till then I will be stopping here.

i wish there was more indoor seating.

I love this Starbucks!! It is located in a great place, also is open later than the other Starbucks in Pearl City... A great atmosphere to study and a bunch of really cool workers work there... They always make my day end happy!!!

Thank you for knowing how to make a Caramel Machiatto and your great service. The only reason you get 4 stars is because the manager lady huffs and puffs when I ask her to fill up my water cup, even though I just spent $10 bucks on coffee and a ham artisan sandwich.
